The world of applications is constantly changing and more and more platforms are conquering the market. These include televisions, which now also offer the possibility of installing applications on the Smart TV.

We see this world for B2C applications, where the customer sits relaxed with his family at home in front of the TV and can call up the desired information. Smart TV applications are a complement to web and mobile applications, where different information is presented together and a value is placed on image and video quality.

The sales figures of Smart TV are constantly increasing and almost every new TV sold has a Smart TV function. It is estimated that about 40 – 60 percent of all televisions are already Smart TVs and about 70 percent of them are connected to the Internet. This wide distribution lends itself to certain groups of applications.
